GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES The Graduate School of Educational Sciences was founded in 1993.Since 1998 the Institute has been offering graduate programs, both Master of Arts (MA) with/without thesis and Doctorate (PhD), in order to train students in educational sciences and as teachers. The Educational Sciences Institute consists of seven departments and fourteen programs providing MA and PhD programs for students. Additionally, the Institute has been offering Secondary School Field Teaching MA non-thesis course program since 1998 for those who would like to be teachers. The aim of the Institute is to train students with both academic and pedagogical knowledge that would enable them to perform in a constantly changing world, and thus prepare students for present and future endeavors. We also aim to form a background for those who intend to do a further study in Language Teaching methodology by providing them with a thorough knowledge of research design and methodology. The aim of the PhD program is to provide students with further knowledge in areas of specialization such as Language Acquisition, English Language Testing, Psycholinguistics which will help them to get further insight in theoretical and practical foundation both in language teaching and linguistics. The students are also expected to conduct empirical studies in these fields and apply the research and pedagogical implications of these studies to language teaching.
