Kutzt nian News A publication of the Borough of Kutztown Pennsylvania Issue XX F WINTER 2012 Residents enjoy Fall Festival The hot September weather didn’t stop Borough residents from enjoying the 2011 Customer Appreciation Festival, which raised funds for the Kutztown Community Library, Inc. and the Kutztown Fire Company. Kids were excited to decorate pumpkins, jump in the moon bounces, create arts and crafts, and have their faces painted. Marian and Friends Ventriloquist shows were also a big hit, and a crowd gathered for the chance to toss a pie at Councilman Ed Seyler! Many wonderful prizes were given away throughout the day, and the Nawrocki family was the grand prize winner of an HD TV! Introducing Your Elected Officials Magisterial District Judge Gail M. Greth (right) administers the oath of office to Council members Edwin Seyler, Rachael Birckbichler and James Schlegel. He was also particularly appreciative that safety was always a top priority, stating that “the crew was always safe and well trained.” Dennis and his brother, Bruce, have worked for the Borough since 1969, and they miss working together every day. According to Bruce, “if you wanted something done, and done right, Dennis was the one to turn to.” Dennis is enjoying retirement, especially golfing, traveling with his wife, Monica, and spending time with his family. He and Monica have two sons, Kyle and Brad, and four grandchildren, Kale, Adam, Dalton and Kenna. Dennis and Monica, who is also retired, plan to spend much time in two of their favorite places – Ocean City, Maryland and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement, Dennis! Thank you for 42 years of devoted service to the Borough of Kutztown.
